<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nDie ganze Nacht war hektisch. Wir trafen Vorkehrungen, um die verwundeten Patienten bei schwachem Licht zu transportieren. \u00dcberall waren Schreie zu h\u00f6ren. Am 29.04.2009 h\u00f6rten wir vor dem Sonnenaufgang die Drohnen der srilankischen Armee. Wir beteten sogar zu den G\u00f6ttern, dass keine Luftangriffe oder Beschuss erfolgen sollten, bis die Verwundeten an Bord gebracht worden waren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Das IKRK-Schiff legte am Morgen etwa eine Seemeile vor der K\u00fcste von Mullivaikkal an. \u201eSie wollen nicht ans Ufer kommen, also m\u00fcssen wir sie in einem kleinen Boot mitnehmen. \u201eLadet zuerst die Bettpatienten ein\u201c, lautete die Anweisung. Die Menschen mit Bauchwunden und anderen schweren Verletzungen wurden auf den Strand gelegt und strampelten vor Schmerzen, als sie in das Boot geladen wurden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seit der Ankunft des Schiffes griff die Armee mit unz\u00e4hligen Artilleriegranaten an. Gegen 3:30 Uhr nachts nahm die Zahl der Patienten ab, und es entstand eine L\u00fccke in dem behelfsm\u00e4\u00dfigen Krankenhaus. Einige Patienten weigerten sich, auf das Schiff zu gehen, obwohl es f\u00fcr sie notwendig gewesen w\u00e4re. Es war schwierig, sie zu behandeln. Die Zahl der einschlagenden Artilleriegranaten nahm von Zeit zu Zeit zu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wir betraten das Krankenhaus und machten uns darauf gefasst, dass es bald wieder mit Patienten gef\u00fcllt sein w\u00fcrde. Ich muss mich etwas ausruhen. Aber das ist nicht m\u00f6glich. Sowohl Raghavan als auch Thiru r\u00e4umen die leeren Betten um.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alles \u00e4nderte sich augenblicklich, und es wurde zu einer Nebelwand, als die srilankische Marine einen schweren Angriff auf das behelfsm\u00e4\u00dfige Krankenhaus startete. Au\u00dferdem kam Suren Karthikesu, der k\u00fcrzlich das Buch \u201ePorin Satsiyam\u201c (Zeuge des Krieges) ver\u00f6ffentlicht hat, am 25.4.2009 mit einer schweren Halsverletzung zu uns. Trotz des Mangels an \u00fcblicher medizinischer Ausr\u00fcstung konnte sein Leben durch das umsichtige Handeln unseres medizinischen Teams gerettet werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Innerhalb weniger Minuten f\u00fcllte sich das Behelfskrankenhaus wieder mit Verletzten, schneller als ein Sturmwind. Die Patienten wurden in Planenzelten unter den Mangob\u00e4umen untergebracht, so dass sich das Krankenhaus im Erdgeschoss befand. Wir versorgten Kinder, Frauen und \u00e4ltere Menschen mit Muskelfaserrissen je nach Priorit\u00e4t der Verletzung mit lebensrettenden Sofortma\u00dfnahmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Die Polizeibeh\u00f6rde von Tamileelam und die Tamils Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) waren f\u00fcr den Transport der Verletzten ins Krankenhaus, die Versorgung mit Lebensmitteln und andere Aufgaben zust\u00e4ndig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 29.04.2009 - Alle drei Streitkr\u00e4fte (See-, Luft- und Bodentruppen) der srilankischen Armee griffen das Hauptbehelfskrankenhaus an, das sich in der Mullivaikkal High School befand. A makeshift hospital, located in the High School of Mullivaikkal, operated tirelessly. The two permanent buildings were filled to capacity with patients, all of whom required treatment in the ICU. Unable to support the injured people, the small medical team and the hospital struggled without medicine and equipment. However, it cannot be denied that medical treatment was carried out day and night. Artillery shells fell and exploded all around the hospital. People with stomach wounds and other major injuries were laid on the beach and they thrashed in pain as they were loaded into the boat. Since the arrival of the ship, the army was attacking with countless artillery shells. At about 3:30 in the evening, the number of patients decreased and there was a gap in the makeshift hospital. A few patients refused to go to the ship even though in was necessary for them to go. It was difficult to treat them. The number of falling artillery shells increased from time to time. We entered the hospital, bracing ourselves that soon it would be filled again with patients. I need to take some rest. But it is not possible. Both Raghavan and Thiru are re-arranging the empty beds. Everything changed in an instant and it became a smoke screen as the Sri Lankan Navy launched a serious attack on the makeshift hospital. Air, ground, and sea attacks were also carried out on people’s tents. Some got up and ran away from ICU. We could not control anything. More than 15 people who were treated there were massacred, and many were wounded again. Additionally, at this location, Suren Karthikesu, who recently published the book “Porin Satsiyam” (witness of war), came to us on 25.4.2009 with a massive neck injury. Despite the lack of customary medical equipment, his life was saved by the diligent action of our medical team.
